Effective later this year, a new ministry area will be available at our new campus at the intersection of Belle Terre and Matanzas Woods Parkways.  Adjacent to our new facility, we are constructing a Columbarium and Memorial Garden. It is Phase 1 of a planned 3 phase project.  This 1st phase will open with the grand opening of our new church, but we will be pre-selling columbarium niches beginning in August. The current  price of $6,000 per niche is very competitive with other local facilities.

Phase 1 will be comprised of 200 companion niches in 3 columbarium walls.  A companion niche is one that can contain the cremation urns for two persons, but single inurnments are welcomed as well.  The individual walls will be named Bethlehem, Galilee, and Jerusalem and are inscribed with that name and Biblical scriptures relating to the name as well.  The columbaria will be comprised of medium gray granite with black granite niche covers adorned with brass rosettes holding the niche covers in place.  The combination of colors is very appealing to the eye.  The niche covers will be engraved with the names, birth dates and end of journey dates of those inurned in each niche. The engravings are included in the price of the niche and will be standardized by the church. The cost of the cremation and the urn are not included in the price and will not be performed or supplied by the church.

The Columbarium and Memorial Garden come into view as one enters our new campus from the west (Belle Terre Parkway) and through the round-about.  The Memorial Garden walkway meanders along the west side of the church passing the stained-glass windows of the chapel and proceeding south behind the church’s multi-functional sanctuary space. It will be adorned with trees, additional greenery, benches, lights, and pergolas.

We, at PCUMC, are very excited about this new ministry and are pleased to offer it to the United Methodist community or anyone who could potentially become a member of our church or any other Methodist church in the Florida Conference. This is not intended to exclude anyone because we “Welcome All and Worship One.”
